The three essentials
If you have limited time, confirm these three items before submitting a reservation:
- Total price: Include every required fee, tax and any discount conditions.
- Service scope and time: Confirm what the course includes and whether check-in, showering or changing is counted in the displayed time.
- Cancellation rules: Know the deadline, same-day charge and treatment of late arrival.
Ask the official booking desk before confirming if the website does not answer one of these questions.
Ten-point booking checklist
1. Service scope
Check that the course matches your purpose. Similar names can cover different treatments and facilities. Use the official menu and rules as your reference.
2. Course duration
Find out whether 60, 90 or 120 minutes refers only to treatment or to the complete visit. Choose by content and schedule, not duration alone.
3. Complete price
Add nomination, extension, late-night, transportation and other required charges. Ask, “What is the total amount I will pay on the day?” when necessary.
4. Payment method
Confirm whether the salon accepts cash, cards or mobile payment for your course. Card acceptance may have conditions.
5. Location and entrance
Save the address, station exit, building name, floor and entrance directions. Allow extra time at a large or unfamiliar station.
6. Opening and final reception times
The last booking time may be earlier than closing and may change by course length.
7. Official reservation channel
Use the telephone number, form, booking portal or messaging account linked from the salon's official website. Send only necessary personal information.
8. Changes, cancellation and lateness
Confirm the free-change deadline, same-day cancellation fee and whether lateness shortens or cancels the session. Contact the salon promptly when plans change.
9. Clothing, belongings and health
Read any instructions about identification, payment items or clothing. Ask before booking if you have a health condition, skin concern or uncertainty about whether the service is suitable.
10. Same-day contact
Save a contact method you can use if you get lost or your train is delayed. Check that the final confirmation contains the correct date, time and course.
Message template in English
Hello. This is my first visit. I would like to book the [course] on [date] at [time]. Could you confirm the total price, what the course includes, accepted payment methods and the cancellation policy? I can communicate in [English / simple Japanese]. Thank you.
Keep the message short and replace the bracketed details. The salon may respond in Japanese, so save the reply and translate the important conditions carefully.
Reasons to slow down
- the base price is visible but required extras are unclear
- the course name has no concrete description
- no cancellation or late-arrival policy can be found
- the location, operator or official contact is difficult to verify
- questions remain unanswered while immediate payment is requested
One sign alone does not prove a problem, but unresolved conditions are a good reason not to rush.
