“Three minutes from the station” needs context
A station-near salon can be convenient after work, while travelling or in poor weather. The advertised walking time, however, may begin at one specific exit and exclude the distance inside the station or time spent finding the building.
Compare access together with the service, price and booking rules.
Practical advantages
A short route can make arrival time easier to estimate, reduce exposure to rain or heat and simplify the journey home after an evening visit. Underground passages or covered routes can be especially useful.
The map distance alone does not show large intersections, pedestrian bridges, elevators or complicated building entrances.
How to estimate the real route
Check:
- the train line and ticket gate you will use
- the exit specified on the official website
- the route from that exit
- building name, floor and entrance
- elevator availability where relevant
Add a few minutes when visiting an unfamiliar place.
Large interchange stations
At Shinjuku, Shibuya, Ikebukuro and other major stations, a five-minute listing can take much longer from a different line. Use a route planner from your actual platform or gate, not only from the station label on a map.
Price still matters
A convenient address does not show whether the course suits you. Compare the total including nomination, extension, late-night and other required fees. Do not choose by distance alone.
Check the surroundings
Look at the route after dark, pedestrian traffic, lighting and whether the return to the station is straightforward. Confirm that the building information on the official site matches current map information.
Arrive with a small margin
Plan to reach the immediate area about ten minutes early on a first visit, while following the salon's requested entry time. Some appointment-only locations cannot admit customers too early, so wait nearby if necessary.
If your train is delayed or you get lost, contact the salon as soon as possible. Late arrival may shorten the course or make the booking unavailable.
